Bangkok Trip June 10 -13 - Review of Park Plaza Sukhumvit Hotel

This is a belated blog of our Bangkok Trip last June. Well, better late than never.

Arrived into Bangkok and checked in to Park Plaza Sukhumvit. It was raining so had to settle lunch in C02 restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast is also served here. BTW, this is a very new boutique hotel and was ranked number 1 in tripadvisor when we made the trip there.
This is the menu.

Table with window view

Another table in CO2. In the background is the cosy lounge area.

Young Chef preparing our lunches.

Service was good and prompt. Maybe there was no one else except us.
Tom Yum Goong - quite nice

Chicken with Rice - this is nice too!

Fried Rice - nice!

Next is a review of the hotel:
We stayed 3 nights June 10-12 in 2 superior rooms. We were served with welcome drinks upon arrival and were given early check in and complimentary late checkout till 2pm. Hotel is not very big but very cosy, new and modern.
Room Key

Superior Room with twin beds - Beds and pillows are soft and comfortable. Aircon is strong and can be controlled. Room décor is quite luxurious and room is big, bright , clean and modern with nice curtains, overlooking a busy street. Pretty interesting sights to behold in the busy rush hour in the morning.

Superior Room with King Bed. There is a electronic safe, bar area with electric kettle with tea/coffee, 2 bottles of water, fridge, a wardrode and LCD TV in the room. Iron and umbrella are also available.

Another view of the room with the bathroom in view. Curtain in the bathroom can be pulled down when you bath!

Bathroom with standing shower and a wooden bench. No bathtub though. It has both big rain shower as well as handle shower.

Unique and chic towel rank

Wash Basin with all amenities, including a sewing kit.

Towel elephant was cute and toy elephants were given as souvenirs. My daughter was thrilled to have 3 different designs.

Breakfast is included in the room rate. There is a egg section and the staff personally brings/serves the eggs you ordered to your table. Superby service! Can you see the honeycomb? Very nice honey!

There are cereals.

Various cold cuts, cheese,

Various breads with jam/butter/honeycomb, noodles/rice, vegetables, sauages, bacon,chicken/meat and fruits etc etc. It is quite a spread and the food is quite tasty.

Fruits section

Juices and water, peanuts and crackers are provided 24hr on the 2nd floor , next to breakfast area.

There are 2 PCs on the ground floor and WIFI is available FOC in the hotel. The lobby is quite hip and chic with nice sofas. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly and will hail taxi for you upon request. All in all, this hotel lives up to all the tripadvisor reviews.

The hotel is near to both Asok skytrain and underground Sukhumvit MRT and nearby are many massage shops and eateries.

Hotel and its surroundings, a very busy road

There is a foodcourt at Westin Hotel opposite. But I would say the food at the foodcourt is not as good as MaboonKhrong. The hotel stands out among the slumps. There are old, broken and maybe abandoned shophouses just beside the hotel along the way to the skytrain and a dog will come out after dark to look for food? However, this is really not within the control of the hotel!

End of Review.
